Keruak Wildlife Corridor Report 2025

Read the report here.

The Keruak Wildlife Corridor, a wildlife corridor along the Kinabatangan River, is the result of a pioneering partnership between an oil palm producer, Genting Plantations Berhad, and the state government since 2018. Hutan is one of the collaborative parties that has been reforesting the corridor with native forest species and monitoring biodiversity since 2019.

In early 2024, the Reforestation team completed the planting of the 110-acre Keruak Wildlife Corridor with over 71,000 trees. Then, the team focused on continuous maintenance to ensure the growth and survival of the trees planted. Furthermore, the Reforestation team also started estimating biomass and evaluating soil health on site. The Wildlife Survey and Protection (WSP) Unit conducted its fifth year of biodiversity monitoring with camera traps.
